Project PartnersProf. Dr. Thomas AltmannInstitute of Biochemistry and Biology / Genetics, University of Potsdam Core Competency:Analysis of plant growth and heterosis using genetical genomics approaches. Characterized Arabidopsis thaliana natural and induced genetic diversity is established and used for association studies, QTL mapping, and gene isolation. Contribution to Work Programme:WP1: Procedures for QTL analyses and association studies will be provided. WP4: Characterised Arabidopsis thaliana genetic diversity such as genome-wide genotyped natural accessions, recombinant inbred lines (RILs) genetic substitution lines (NILs), chemically induced mutants identified by TILLING will be provided. Large-scale experiments will be carried out to phenotype accession, RIL and NIL populations for growth (biomass accumulation) and molecular profiles and the data will be used to detect gene-/marker – trait associations, to map QTL, and to carry out integrated data analyses. The major contribution of this partner will be to WP4.
